Community products to be available at Big C stores nationwide

NONTHABURI, Sept 29 (TNA) -- The Commerce Ministry has sealed a deal with Big C Supercenter for the sales of community products at the latter’s stores nationwide and also abroad to promote small and medium-sized enterprises. Commerce Minister Apiradi Tantraporn said five units of the Commerce Ministry signed an agreement with Big C Supercenter Plc for the sales of local quality products including OTOP products, products of SMEs and products with geographical indications (GI). The units were the Business Development Department, the Department of Foreign Trade, the Department of Internal Trade, the Department of Intellectual Property and the Department of International Trade Promotion. The agencies would encourage operators under their supervision to present their products to the management of Big C Supercenter and selected suppliers would show their products in a fair at Big C Rangsit 2 store on Oct 3-5. Aswin Techajareonvikul, Chief Executive Officer and President of Big C Supercenter, said he expected more than 1,000 suppliers to present their products for possible sales at about 700 Big C stores nationwide and more branches in other countries.
