D-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation

Tehran, IRNA – The D-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation (D-8) and the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) will cooperate in the media field and coverage of the D-8 activities. The secretary-general of D-8 here on Sunday met and conferred with News Deputy of IRNA Kamran Qobadi, telling him that the D-8 was established in the year 1997, but despite its 25-year activities, the world nations and even the people of its member countries are not sufficiently familiar with that organization. Isiaka Abdulqadir Imam expressed hope that IRNA, the main source of news dissemination in the Islamic Republic of Iran, will manage to transmit the D-8 news to the world nations. He said that the D-8 University and the D-8 Technological Institute, as two subsidiary organizations of that group, are both in Iran, asking IRNA to cover their activities. The News Deputy of IRNA, too, congratulating Abdulqadir Imam for being elected as the D-8 secretary-general, said that IRNA welcomes covering D-8 activities. Kamran Qobadi elaborated on IRNA’s capacities in news production and coverage in Iran and the world, ensuring the D-8 secretary-general that IRNA will fill the gap in D-8 news coverage.
