East M'sia State, Sarawak To Host Inaugural Southeast Asia Women Entrepreneurs Conference
KUCHING (Sarawak, Malaysia), Feb 17 (Bernama) -- The inaugural Southeast
Asia Women Entrepreneurs Conference (WEC2012), will be a platform to empower and
promote new as well as established women entrepreneurs by providing them
information, motivation and also business connections through networking.
The WEC2012 will be held from May 22-25 and hosted by the
Women's Wing of the Sarawak Bumiputera Entrepreneurs Chamber (DUBS) at the
Borneo Convention Centre Kuching, in Kuching district of Sarawak (east
Malaysia).
The DUBS Chief, Juita Drap said an estimated 400 women entrepreneurs
from Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei, Indonesia, the Philippines and Thailand, will
participate in the event.
"Through this platform, women are encouraged to take control of their
businesses, step out of their comfort zone through a mindset shift and extend
their reach beyond just their local shores," she told a press conference on
the WEC2012 here, Friday.
Juita said the event will consist of business presentations by qualified
international speakers on the current economic situation and challenges
in global market.
She said there would also be a business matching session that
identifies delegates in a similar circle to forge business deals or even
collaborate on projects in a third country.
The WEC 2012 is expected to be inaugurated by Sarawak Chief Minister
Abdul Taib Mahmud.
