EXTERNAL TRADE

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ In the first half of 2012, Mongolia traded with 123 countries. A total external trade turnover reached 5,575.6 mln.US dollars--exports 2,262.3 mln.US dollars, imports 3,313.3 mln.US dollars. The foreign trade balance showed a deficit of 1,051.0 mln.US dollars, increasing 318.2 mln.US dollars or 43.4 percent against the same period of 2011, due to the import growth of 8.1 points. Total external trade turnover went up 857.2 mln.US dollars or 18.2 percent--imports by 587.7 mln.US dollars or 21.6 percent, and exports up by 269.5 mln.US dollars or 13.5 percent against the same period of the previous year. Mineral products, natural or cultured stones, precious metal, jewelry, coins, raw & processed hides, skins, fur & articles, animal origin products, textile articles and auto & air transport vehicles & their spare parts accounted for 98.6 percent of the total export value amount.
