Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Bank of Mongolia has reported that money supply (broad money or M2) reached MNT 10.0 trillion at the end of February 2016, increasing 142.0 billion or 1.4% against the previous month, but decreased 237.7 billion or 2.3% against the previous year. At the end of February 2016, currency issued in circulation reached 655.5 billion Togrog, going down by 58.2 billion or 8.2% against January and by 120.4 billion or 15.5% against the previous year. Loans outstanding amounted to 11.6 trillion Togrog, declining 155.6 billion or 1.3% against January and by 549.5 billion or 4.5% compared to the same period of previous year. Principals in arrears reached 974.5 billion Togrog at the end of February 2016, increasing 35.6 billion or 3.8% against January, and by 576.4 billion or 2.4 times against the previous year. The non-performing loans over the bank system reached MNT 889.1 billion, increasing 4.8 billion or 0.5% against January, and 222.1 billion or 33.3% compared to the same period of previous year.
