FREIGHT AND PASSENGERS IN STATISTICS

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ In the first five months of this year, 7,750.9 thousand ton freight and 1,360.6 thousand passengers (duplicated counting) were carried by railway transport. Compared with the same period of the previous year, the amount of carried freight decreased 457.2 thousand ton or 5.6%, while the number of carried passengers declined 179.8 thousand persons or 11.7%. During that period, the revenue from railway transport reached 158.3 bln.tog, reflecting a decrease of 3.4 bln.tog or 2.1% against the same period of the previous year, and 1,328.8 ton freight and 248.2 thousand passengers (with double counting) were carried by air transport. Compared to the same period of the previous year, the amount of carried freight dropped by 166.4 ton or 11.1%, while the number of carried passengers decreased 26.3 thousand persons or 9.6%. The revenue from air transport reached 75.2 bln.tog, showing a decrease of 1.7 bln.tog or 2.2 percent against the same period of the previous year.
