Govt Offers Details On 27 Infrastructure Projects
Jakarta, Nov 15 (Antara) - The government has announced plans for 27 infrastructure projects, worth US$47.52 billion or Rp551.2 trillion, as part of the Private and Government Cooperation Scheme (KPS), a minister said.
"They are made up of 14 prospective projects and 13 potential projects," Minister and Head of National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas) Armida S Alisjahbana said after submitting the book on the PPP Project Plan 2013, fifth edition, at Jakarta Convention Center on Friday.
Armida said the fifth edition of the book, following the 2012 book, contains 27 infrastructure projects.
"The previous book contained 21 projects, but we did not offer them more," the minister said, adding that the new edition of the book also contained the improvement of regulations to ensure the implementation of the 27 projects.
Armida explained that the potential projects were a priority in infrastructure development, while the prospective projects had already been equipped with a variety of supporting documents.
"These projects are intended to support connectivity, electricity supplies, and urban infrastructure," she said.
According to Armida, the connectivity-supporting projects include train and mass rapid transit (MRT), while urban infrastructure include drinking water, waste management, and provisions for sanitation.
