GSB confirms safe payment via QR code

BANGKOK, Sept 30 (TNA) -- QR code payment is the safest kind of payment for the time being as it is free of skimming, Government Savings Bank (GSB) has confirmed. GSB President Chatchai Payuhanaveechai said QR code payment was the safest method of payment at the moment and proved to be free of any money loss through any skimming effort. He also said that 3.02 million poor people who applied for government subsidies through GSB already had their qualifications verified. Krungthai Bank delivered 2.5 million e-welfare cards for the people and GSB forwarded 1 million cards to them. Holders can use e-welfare cards from Oct 1 onwards and the Bank of Thailand planned to keep fees for the usage lower than payment with credit cards, Mr Chatchai said. (TNA)
