INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS FORUM HELD IN ERDENET

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/ The Ministry of Mining and Heavy Industry (MMHI) and Erdenet Mining Corporation (EMC) jointly organized an international business forum titled ‘Cooperation and investment opportunities’ on December 13-14 in Erdenet city, Orkhon aimag. Present at the business forum were MMHI Minister D.Sumiyabazar, former President P.Ochirbat, Governor of Orkhon aimag D.Batlut and representatives of over 40 mining companies of 15 countries and others. Minister D.Sumiyabazar highlighted the importance of organizing this international business forum at the time of intending to develop accountable mining. “In the firsthand, strategically important deposits and industries, such as EMC, need substantial technical and technological modernization in the process of transiting from raw-material exporter into a producer of value-added products.” During the closing ceremony, EMC Director General Kh.Badamsuren recapped, “During the business forum, foreign and domestic companies shared views on target projects reflected in the basic directives to develop EMC in 2017-2031 and discussed cooperation opportunities. Roundtable meetings were innovation-based business.
