Italian Experts To Conduct Seminar On Plastics Technology

KUALA LUMPUR, March 2 (Bernama) -- A seminar on Italian plastics technology, conducted by Italian experts, will be held in Shah Alam, Selangor on March 6, 2012. In a statement here Friday, the Italian Trade Commission said the seminar, which was expected to give Malaysia's plastic manufacturing industry a boost, would focus on the latest technology in thermoforming, extrusion and plastics process cooling. It said five Italian plastics working machinery producers, known worldwide for their expertise and cutting-edge technology, would also be present to have business-to-business meetings with Malaysian companies. The commission said in 2011, Italy's export of plastics and rubber working machinery to Malaysia registered a record RM46.5 million (US$1=RM3), an increase over 400 per cent from 2010. It said given this optimistic outlook and in line with the trade liberalisation, Malaysia and Italy would continue to explore opportunities to prepare the industries for a new era. The seminar is jointly organised by the commission, Italian Plastic and Rubber Processing Machinery and Moulds Manufactures Association and Selangor Human Resource Development Centre with the support of the Malaysian Plastics Manufacturers Association. -- BERNAMA
