JAL to Offer Free Wi-Fi on Domestic Flights Indefinitely

Tokyo, June 20 (Jiji Press)--Japan Airlines <9201> said Tuesday it will continue providing free in-flight Wi-Fi wireless Internet access for domestic-flight customers indefinitely after the current free Wi-Fi campaign expires at the end of August. By enhancing its in-flight service, JAL aims to differentiate itself from rivals, including low-cost carriers that are growing in number. Excluding five-minute periods after taking off and before landing, customers can use Wi-Fi without limit using carry-on devices. The Wi-Fi Internet connection can get unstable because it uses a satellite-based communications system. END
