Kazakhstan and EBRD expand cooperation
Astana, 4 December 2008, (Khabar) - The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Karim Massimov has met with the President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, Thomas Mirow. The two parties discussed the current economic situation in the world as well as the prospects for Kazakhstan’s economic development and the issues surrounding cooperation between Kazakhstan and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. The parties also exchanged their thoughts about measures being taken by the Republic’s government to stabilize the economy.
Thomas Mirow, president, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development:
- I think that those measures indicated in the anti-crisis programme are correct and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development will do its best to support the government of Kazakhstan in terms of their implementation. The whole world is in a difficult situation now. But, we are sure that Kazakhstan has every chance to overcome the crisis.
