Kazakhstani participation in joint oil and gas projects will be expanded
Astana, 1 January 2008, Khabar - Dimash Bizhanov, head of department of development of Kazakhstani participation of “KazMunaiGaz” has said this in interview to our TV channel. At the same time the national companies take leading places in realization of their own projects. Kazakhstani machine building companies vegan to receive many orders from oil companies during recent years. 10 years ago “KazMunaiGaz” launched program on development of oil and gas equipment of national production. At that time Kazakhstani machine building companies were suggested to elaborate products that would compete with leading foreign analogues.
Dimash Bizhanov, director of department of development of Kazakhstani participation of “KazMunaiGaz”:
- Due to this program the Kazakhstani machine building companies produced over 300 types of oil and gas equipment for branches of “KazMunaiGaz”. Common sum of purchases during the whole period exceeded $620 millions.
Currently, 28 plants in various regions of country produce the goods for “KazMunaiGaz”. Petropavlovsk manufactures mobile drilling mounts, Pavlodar – pipes without junctions and Western Kazakhstan produces gas piping aggregates. But “KazMunaiGaz” is sure it is necessary to increase national participation in international projects.

- In 2008, Kazakhstani participation in Tengiz project was about 50%, 60% - in Karachaganak project. If we take into account sums that are spent in these projects, Kazakhstani share is absolutely obvious.
One of the main tasks of the company is conducting of tenders in Kazakhstan instead of international grounds. This simplifies access of suppliers to the tender procedures, and plants receive orders and create new work places and plants become interested in producing new competitive goods.

- Now we actively work with operators of large oil and gas projects, in particular with North Caspian and Karachaganak ones on quick holding of tenders on the territory of Kazakhstan, not abroad.
