Malaysia Pavilion At Expo 2020 Dubai To Feature Claytan, Other Malaysian Brands
KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 19 (Bernama) -- Malaysian Green Technology and Climate Change Centre (MGTC) has announced ceramic product maker Claytan Group as corporate partner for Malaysia Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai, a global event scheduled for Oct 1, 2021 to March 31, 2022.
MGTC, the implementing agency for Malaysia’s participation at the world expo, said it will feature Claytan at the Malaysia Pavilion along with several Malaysian brands, including cafe and retail operators.
MGTC chief executive officer Shamsul Bahar Mohd Nor, who announced this at a virtual event to commemorate United Nations’ World Toilet Day 2020, said Claytan had been successful in securing jobs to install sanitaryware and fittings at several other pavilions and public areas at the expo site in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates.
“Claytan’s centennial marks the company’s legacy and continued resilience and success as it grows from strength to strength since it was founded in 1920.
“The recognition of Claytan products by other pavilions is testament to its product quality and companies like Claytan prove that Malaysia may be an emerging market but we have the capabilities of a developed nation,” he said in a statement Thursday.
Towards this, he said, Malaysian companies should take advantage of Expo 2020, which is expected to attract 25 million visitors throughout the six months, to promote their branding globally by partnering with Malaysia Pavilion.
Meanwhile, MGTC chief operating officer Syed Ahmad Syed Mustafa said that with an estimated 80 per cent of expo participants looking to enhance global trade and bringing business delegations and hosting unique business programmes, Expo 2020 is an opportunity not to be missed.
“The expo is expected to produce multiple business partnerships and open up prospects for industries,” he said, adding that more partnerships with Malaysia Pavilion will be announced soon.
Despite the expo’s postponement by one year, Malaysia Pavilion continues to hold activities, including virtually, to promote its participation at Expo 2020 where it will host 26 weekly thematic business programmes, he said.
