Malaysian ICT Providers Receive Encouraging Support On Philippines Roadshow

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 16 (Bernama) -- Malaysian Information and Communication Technology (ICT) providers on a recent road show to Manila, the Philippines, received very encouraging support and interest in their call centres and other solutions. In a statement Wednesday, the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) said the companies received enquiries for Credit Card Management Host systems, Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), Oil and Gas solutions, Call Centre solutions, Modem and SMS Gateway Application systems and Integrated Toll Collection systems. "During the mission, a memorandum of understanding between a Malaysian and Filipino company, was signed for an Electronic Revenue Collection system," said MATRADE, which organised and led the mission for four days from Oct 17. "This is the first time MATRADE had organised an ICT related trade mission to the Philippines," it added. Among the mission’s objectives, was to provide Malaysian ICT providers an opportunity to reach out to the Philippines’s Business Processing Outsourcing (BPO) industry, currently the third largest in the world. --BERNAMA
