Malaysia's Composites Mart To Come Under Focus At JEC Asia 2012

KUALA LUMPUR, March 8 (Bernama) -- The potential of Malaysia's composites market will come under focus at the JEC Asia 2012 from June 26-28, 2012 in Singapore. The international exhibition seeks to promote products, technologies, research and professional skills on which current developments in composites are based on in Malaysia. It also reflects the composites industry's tremendous growth in Asia with the participation of over 300 companies. JEC Group president/chief executive officer, Frederique Mutel, said Malaysia has been selected as the country of honour for the JEC Asia 2012 due to the rapid growth potential of its composites market. "It is also because of the solid network established between the worlds of science, technology, research and development, teaching and industry," he told a media conference here Thursday. Mutel said the exhibition would present a range of innovations in biocomposites, especially the rapid commercial expansion of natural fibres used to replace traditional glass and carbon fibres. "It will also be putting the spotlight on various important composites innovations for the motor vehicle sector," she said.
