Mead Johnson To Build US$325 Mln Singapore Plant

By Tengku Noor Shamsiah Tengku Abdullah SINGAPORE, Dec 9 (Bernama) -- Mead Johnson Nutrition (MJN) will invest US$325 million to build a new manufacturing and research and development facilities in Singapore. Its president for Asia and Europe, Charles Urbain, said the project was the largest capital investment in the company’s history and was needed to support its fast-growing business across Asia. "The new plant will enable us to better serve our customers across Asia as demand for our products continues to grow. "This significant investment includes the company’s first spray dryer in Asia, which will strengthen our regional supply chain and help improve our overall operating efficiency," he said when announcing the plan here today. In addition to the new production staff, a number of management and technical positions would be relocated here to support the new facilities, he said. "Some of those required positions will be new hires in Singapore, and the remaining personnel will be transferred from other Mead Johnson Nutrition locations," he said. -- BERNAMA
