ONE STOP SHOP FOR GOLD PURCHASING TO OPEN IN AIMAGS

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Precious Metals Assay Inspection Department of Mongolian Agency for Standard and Metrology and the Sustainable Artisanal Mining (SAM) Project of Swiss Development Agency intend to establish Precious Metals Assay Laboratories in Darkhan-Uul and Bayankhongor aimags. In connection with it the Bank of Mongolia (BOM) decided to open One stop shops for gold purchasing in the aimags through its branches. The BOM President passed Order No.A-108 ‘On some measures to intensify the gold purchase in the local area’ on April 1, 2018. In addition, SAM project Steering Committee meeting supported the establishment of a precious metal assay and one stop shop for gold purchasing in rural area and approved a work plan and budget. Metal assay operation and one-stop gold purchasing services in the aimags will facilitate gold assaying and purchasing process for mining companies and artisanal miners in the western and central regions and give opportunities to sell the gold at high market price.
