Online revenue stamps will help promote e-payment

BANGKOK, Sept 1 (TNA) -- The Revenue Department is about to introduce its online stamps to support the e-payment policy of the government. Revenue director-general Prasong Poontaneat said that a QR-code system would be installed to facilitate the paperless tax payment of companies. Besides, his department will sell revenue stamps via its website. Buyers can print stamps for use with their transaction documents. He expected the new services would be launched in a few months. At the end of July, the Revenue Department collected 1.4 trillion baht and its tax collection throughout fiscal 2017 should exceed its target of 1.87 trillion baht because the collection of corporate taxes was rising steadily due to government investment projects including the Eastern Economic Corridor and electric railways as well as public welfare projects, Mr Prasong said. He expected the government’s tax revenue to reach 1.93 trillion baht in fiscal 2017. (TNA)
