Osh entrepreneurs can strengthen their positions on Saint-Petersburg consumer market

Osh, Aug. 22, 2018. /Kabar/. Representatives of the business environment of Osh will be able to strengthen their positions on Saint-Petersburg consumer market. A round-table was held on Tuesday in the Osh Mayor’s Office on the topic “Trade-Economic Cooperation between the Cities of Osh and Saint-Petersburg”.
Among the participants of the event were Deputy Mayor of Osh Shakir Zulimov, representatives of the delegation from Saint-Petersburg headed by leader – Deputy Chair of the Committee on Education Andrei Borschevsky, who arrived in Osh within culture-business mission, representative of business environment and heads of industry enterprises of Osh.
In his welcoming remark, Shakir Zulimov noted the development of the strategic partnership of the two countries, stressing that the trade-economic cooperation between the two countries is becoming stronger each year.
“Russia holds the first place in terms of the volume of Kyrgyzstan’s turnover with foreign countries. At the same time, textile products from Kyrgyzstan are in high demand on Russian markets. This demonstrates trust relationships between the countries. Furthermore, about 667 Russian enterprises are active in the Kyrgyz Republic. That is further proof that cooperation between the two states remains on a quite high level”, Zulimov said.
Chief of Consumer Market Development Department of St. Petersburg's Committee for Entrepreneurship and Consumer Market Development Elena Podgornaya made a presentation on the topic “State and Development Trends of Saint-Petersburg’s Consumer Market”.
In her speech, she noted that representatives of the business environment of Osh can submit applications to major trade-retail networks of Saint-Petersburg via web-site for supplying agricultural products.
During the round table meeting the participants discussed the expansion of trade-economic opportunities, business presence on the developing market, strengthening of current positions, and new ideas concerning development of bilateral cooperation in the fields of tourism, textile and clothing industry, agriculture, innovations in the field of civil construction, automation of paid-for roads, and other areas.
