Pekanbaru-Dumai Toll Road Project Starts In October
Pekanbaru, Riau, Aug 18 (Antara) - The construction of a 126-kilometer-long toll road connecting Pekanbaru to Dumai in Riau Province will begin in October this year, Riau Governor Annas Maamun reported.
"The construction of the toll road with a width of 100 meters will have started by October this year, as representatives of four related ministries have confirmed this recently," he told journalists here on Monday.
The four ministries included public works, forestry, environment, and home affairs, he said, adding that the net amount allocated for construction will be Rp14.7 trillion.
"Of course, we are happy to know that about Rp14.7 trillion of the state budget can be brought to Riau," he said.
Governor Annas Maamun noted that the project could be realized after Riau`s master plan or the spatial planning (RUTR) was signed on August 9, 2014.
"We had fought for the signing of the master plan for seven years. As a result, an area with the forestry area status can now be constructed," he added.
The Pekanbaru-Dumai toll road is part of the Trans-Sumatra Toll Road project.
