President Chiars Meeting With National Economic Committee In Bali

Nusa Dua, Bali, March 28 (Antara) - Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono led a meeting on the Post-2015 Development Agenda with the chairman and members of the National Economic Committee (KEN) here on Thursday. "KEN has contributed a number of ideas, suggestions and recommendations to the government on economic issues," the president said. Vice President Boediono also attended the meeting. President Yudhoyono is on a working visit to Bali, from March 25 to 31, among other things to co-chair the fourth meeting of the UN High Level Panel of Eminent Persons on the Post-2015 Development Agenda and attend a congress of the Democratic Party. The president said KEN could submit recommendations on economic matters to the government to support the implementation of the government`s programs. KEN recommendations, the president added, were among other things on global financial issues, efforts to maintain the stability of commodities` basic prices, and the poverty rate reduction to prevent the widening gap between the poor and the rich. The meeting between members of the United Indonesia Cabinet II and KEN in Bali was not for the first time. After a meeting with KEN, the president will chair an economic meeting to discuss the continuation of the government working plans and the Draft State Budget 2014. Among ministers of the United Indonesia Cabinet II who attended the meeting were Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Djoko Suyanto, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Hatta Rajasa, Coordinating Minister for People`s Welfare Agung Laksono, Minister/State Secretary Sudi Silalahi, Cabinet Secretary Dipo Alam, Research and Technology Minister Gusti Muhammad Hatta, Industry Minister MS Hidayat, Finance Minister Agus Martowardoyo and Chairman of KEN Chairul Tanjung.
