PT Bio Farma Bags New Market Pioneer Award

Bandung, W.Java, Oct 9 (Antara) - The Indonesian vaccine manufacturer PT Bio Farma bagged the Primaniyarta Award for the fifth consecutive time and the New Market Pioneer Award from the Ministry of Trade. "Bio Farma has been winning the Primaniyarta Award since 2010," Executive Director of Bio Farma Iskandar stated here on Thursday. The awards were conferred on Bio Farma for its success in expanding its vaccine market, especially in the private markets in Asian and African regions. As of now, Bio Farma`s products are consumed in 131 countries. Iskandar remarked that Bio Farma has always met the requirements set by the National Agency for Drug and Food (BPOM) and the World Health Organization (WHO) regarding its facilities, production processes, and products. "We always meet the international standards set for manufacturing drugs in order to continue marketing our products in all countries in the world," he noted. Iskandar emphasized that the success achieved by Bio Farma in expanding its markets in Asian and African regions is related to the company`s cooperation with Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in which the company is designated as Center of Excellence. This is because among all Muslim countries, Bio Farma from Indonesia is capable of vaccine production. "Being the Center of Excellence gives Bio Farma an opportunity to expand the market for its vaccines and drugs in the OIC countries at affordable prices," Iskandar added.
