Pusri Has Distributed 255,465 Tons Of Fertilizer

Palembang, S Sumatra, July 15 (Antara) - PT Pupuk Sriwidjaja (Pusri) said it has distributed 255,465 tons of non-subsidized urea fertilizer to private plantation companies so far this year. "Pusri distributed the fertilizer among plantation companies in its operational areas including South Sumatra, Jambi, Bengkulu, Lampung, Bangka Belitung, Banten, Jakarta, Central Java and Yogyakarta," Sulfa Ganie, the chief spokesman of the state fertilizer company, said here on Monday. In addition Pusri had distributed 71,900 tons of non-subsidized urea fertilizer to industrial sector, Sulfa said. The sales of non subsidized fertilizer and exports will add to the income of the company, he said. Pusri has exported part of its production of urea fertilizer to a number of countries in Asia. The company, however, has sold most of its production of urea fertilizer at subsidized price to farmers. So far this year, the company has exported 126,525 tons of urea fertilizer . The company plans to increase its sales and exports of non-subsidized urea fertilizer with the expected increase in its production. The company`s production is expected to increase after the operation of a new production unit now being built to replace an old unit under its revitalization program. "Currently, with four factories in operation, Pusri has an installed production capacity of 2.262 million tons of urea fertilizer a year. The capacity is enough to meet demand in its operational area," Sulfa said.
