Russian Economy Mission To Visit RI In March 2014

Jakarta, Dec 11 (Antara) - The Russian Big Economy Mission will visit Indonesia in March 2014, to seek further potentials on trade and investment, Russian Ambassador to Indonesia Mikhail Galuzin said here on Wednesday. "We in Russia is now seeking better relationship with Indonesia, particularly through economy, one of which is by sending Big Economy Mission in March 2014," Ambassador Galuzin said during the round-table discussion to mark the 20th Anniversary of Russian Federation`s Constitution. The Big Economy Mission will bring Russian businessmen to meet Indonesian businessmen lead by Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry`s (KADIN) Chairman Suryo Bambang Sulisto. "We also want to widen our economic cooperation with ASEAN in general," added Galuzin. The Chairman of KADIN, Suryo Bambang Sulisto, said the bilateral relationship between Indonesia and Russia is still far from its real potentials, including in aviation, defense and energy. "What people are noticing at the moment is only the railways project in East Kalimantan, which is of course very important. But, Indonesia and Russia have the potential to collaborate in other sectors," he said. Sulisto added that KADIN had met the Russian Chamber of Trade and Industry several times and both had agreed to encourage the tourism sector in the two countries. "We want more Russian tourists and also want Indonesians to experience Russian tourism," he said. Sulisto noted that in general, Indonesia and Russias bilateral relationship had progressed, but still needed improvement. The 20th Anniversary of the Russian Federation`s Constitution will be observed on Dec. 12, 2013, the day Russia became a modern democratic state through a resolution adopted by popular vote in 1993.
