Sharjah Ruler inaugurates First Government Communication Forum in Sharjah

Sharjah, Feb 27, 2012 (WAM) - H. H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, inaugurated yesterday the first edition of the Government Communication Forum in the presence of H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah. The Ruler of Sharjah was received by Dato Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, former Prime Minister of Malaysia and the forum's guest of honour in addition to a number of Sheikhs and senior officials. Organised by Sharjah Media Centre, the event that will run until 27 February, aims to benchmark the emirate's government communication standards against global best practices and examine ways for infusing fresh methodologies into the communication mechanism among government departments in Sharjah. The forum has gathered more than 600 regional and global media persons, as well as representatives from private media organisations in Sharjah and university students from across the UAE. - Emirates News Agency, WAM
