Textile exports from northwest Turkey on rise

BURSA (A.A) - January 5, 2012 - Northwestern province of Bursa, Turkey's important textile center, increased its textile exports by 19.5 percent and ready-made clothing exports by 5.2 percent in 2011 when compared to 2010. Total exports of textile and ready-made clothing sectors, which was 1.4 billion USD in 2010, reached 1.6 billion USD in 2011, according to Uludag Exporters' Association (UIB). Textile exports reached 1.1 billion USD with a 19.5 percent rise, while ready-made clothing sector's exports reached 520.8 million USD with a 5.2 percent rise in 2011.
