Tune Group To Open Hotels In Thailand Despite Uncertainties

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 8 (Bernama) -- Tune Group is pressing ahead with the opening of hotels in Hatyai and Pattaya under the Tune Hotel-brand, next month and in February 2012, respectively. The decision comes amidst the prevailing uncertainties in Thailand due to massive flooding over the past few months. "Tune Hotel Hatyai will open on Dec 16 while the Tune Hotel Pattaya will receive its maiden guests on Feb 17. "To help restore confidence and bring tourists back to the Land of Smiles, Tune Hotels is throwing a 10 Baht promotion for rooms at both hotels," group chief executive officer, Mark Lankester said in a statement, on Tuesday. He added the promotion is offered exclusively online at www.tunehotels.com and bookings can be made from Nov 8-18. "The opening of Tune Hotels in Hat Yai and Pattaya during these difficult times, is proof of our determination to be an active player and contributor to the Thai economy, especially the tourism industry," he said. Lankester said apart from Hatyai and Pattaya, the Tune Hotels rollout plan in Thailand for 2012, includes the Asoke in Bangkok and Patong in Phuket.
