Turkey earns 17.1 bln USD from exports of steel in 2011

ANKARA (A.A) - January 5, 2012 - Turkey's exports of steel in 2011 went up 24 percent when compared to the previous year and was recorded as 17.1 billion USD. According to the Turkish Iron and Steel Producers Association, Turkey produced 31 million tonnes of steel between January and November 2011. In the same term, Turkey's imports of iron steel products went down by 3.4 percent when compared to the previous year and was recorded as 9.89 million tonnes.
