Uzbek insurers increase total investment amount by almost 30 percent from Jan to June

Uzbekistan, Tashkent, Aug. 5 / Trend, D. Azizov / Uzbek insurers increased the total amount of investments by 28 percent up to 500.274 billion soums in January-June 2013 compared to the same period of 2012, the Uzbek Ministry of Finance said today. According to the report, deposits - 44.9 percent (46.7 percent a year earlier) and the share of investments in securities - 42.3 percent (41.5 percent in January-June 2012) form the largest share in insurers' total investments. The total volume of insurance companies' deposits increased by 23.2 percent - up to 224.587 billion soums, investments in securities - by 30.9 percent (up to 212.471 billion soums). According to the Uzbek Ministry of Finance, the investments in the authorized funds of enterprises increased by 38.8 percent - up to 27.802 billion soums, in real estate - by 1.5 times (up to 27.043 billion soums), in loans - 13.7 percent (up to 5.935 billion soums) in the first half of this year. The volume of other investments decreased by 17.6 percent - up to 2.436 billion soums. According to the Ministry of Finance, around 34 insurance companies with a total authorized capital as of July 1, 2013 worth 293.654 billion soums worked in Uzbekistan in the first half of 2013. Uzbek insurers increased the collection of premiums by 34.8 percent up to 285.886 billion soums, the volume of payments increased by 3.4 percent - up to 46.006 billion soums in 2012 compared to 2011.
