Vietnam interested in cruise services in Thailand
BANGKOK, July 15 (TNA) -- Vietnamese businessmen visited Thailand to explore opportunities in tourism and logistics, according to the Board of Investment (BoI).
BoI deputy secretary-general Chokdee Kaewsaeng said a delegation of 70 Vietnamese business people led by President of the Vietnam-Thailand Friendship Association (VTFA) Mr Ta Quang Ngoc, recently visited Thailand to explore business opportunities and discuss promotional privileges with representatives of the BoI.
Many Vietnamese delegates expressed interest in operating cruises between the Thai province of Chanthaburi and southern Vietnam and that would boost bilateral tourism, he said.
Besides, Vietnamese operators in processed coconut and seafood businesses as well as dentistry and bedding are looking for Thai business partners to expand their sales and possibly set up their factories in Thailand.
Mr Chokdee said it was the first delegation of Vietnamese operators who explored opportunities in Thailand, showing Vietnam was not only attracting foreign investment but also promoting its overseas investment.
A Vietnamese airline already invested in Thailand and more Vietnamese business sectors would follow suit, especially tourism and logistics, he said.
Reciprocally, BoI would bring Thai investors to explore opportunities in Vietnam in the second half of this year and they would include operators of ports and industrial estates, Mr Chokdeei said. (TNA)
