World Coral Reef Conference To Have 11 Agendas

Manado, North Sulawesi, Feb 18 (Antara) - The World Coral Reef Conference (WCRC) to be organized in Manado, North Sulawesi from May 14 to 17, will have 11 main agendas. The agendas include world marine business forum, international blue carbon symposium, a coral reef exhibition, a journalists` competition, an art and cultural exhibition, a meeting of marine affairs ministers representing Coral Triangle Initiative (CTI) member countries, and an inauguration of the CTI secretariat building, Ronald Sorongan, the head of the North Sulawesi marine affairs and fisheries office, stated on Monday. The conference will comprehensively discuss the management, usage, potential and conservation strategies of coral reefs across the world. "The theme of the conference is `For Sustained Fisheries, Food Security and Eco-Friendly Businesses`," he elaborated. The conference is expected to have participation from around one thousand people representing coastal countries, NGOs, businesses, universities and research and scientific institutions.
