Zurich Takaful, BlackRock Offer New Shariah Global Edge Fund

KUALA LUMPUR, 22 July (Bernama) -- Zurich Takaful Malaysia Bhd (Zurich Takaful) has launched the new Shariah Global Edge Fund, a multi-sector Exchange Traded Fund (ETF) managed by American global asset management corporation, BlackRock. In a joint statement Wednesday, Zurich Takaful chief executive officer Mukesh Dhawan said the new fund, available at a new fund offer price of RM0.50 per unit, provides an opportunity for investors to recover their savings value in current times. “This is a Global Shariah Fund in collaboration with BlackRock which has US$7.32 trillion (RM31.19 trillion) in assets. “It is Shariah certified, hence it provides both transparency and resilience to consumers in Malaysia,” he said. Meanwhile, BlackRock’s iShares Asia Pacific Distribution head Geir Espeskog said the Shariah Global Edge Fund is ideal for investors who understand their investment strategy, risk appetite, and seek to diversify their portfolio with foreign exposure to manage volatility for long term growth. “The fund is available through Zurich Takaful investment-linked products which are accessible via approximately 6,000 wealth planners nationwide,” he added.
