CERTE Director General: Saudi Arabia’s Announcement of Establishing Global Water Organization Answers Calls of Experts
Tunis, September 06, 2023, SPA -- The Director General of the Water Research and Technology Center (CERTE) in Tunisia, Dr. Hakim Gabtni, commended the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's announcement regarding the establishment of the Global Water Organization in Riyadh. This organization's objective is to unite the efforts of countries and organizations in addressing water-related challenges.
In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), Dr. Gabtni emphasized that this significant decision responds to the calls made by experts and specialists in the field of water worldwide, especially in the Arab region, which studies indicate is one of the regions most severely affected by water scarcity.
He went on to highlight that the initiative to create a global water organization originating from an Arab and Islamic country is a source of pride for Arabs and Muslims worldwide. Additionally, he pointed out that Tunisia is among the most water-scarce countries globally, and the establishment of this global organization by the Kingdom would offer invaluable experience and funding to address the water crisis in Tunisia.
Dr. Gabtni expressed his gratitude to HRH the Crown Prince for his attention to global challenges, which underscores his forward-thinking approach.
