Deputy Head Of Scholars In Bosnia And Herzegovina Praises Qatar's Humanitarian Efforts, Development Projects In His Country

Sarajevo, June 11 (QNA) - Deputy Head of Scholars in Bosnia and Herzegovina Dr. Anas Levakovic has praised the State of Qatar's humanitarian efforts and initiatives to provide a helping hand to the people of Bosnia and Herzegovina over the past years, noting in this regard the development projects implemented by Qatar Charity office in Bosnia. This came as Dr. Anas Levakovic met a delegation from Qatar Charity, including General Supervisor of Qatar Charity office in Bosnia and Herzegovina Hassan Al Nuaimi, and director of the office Muhammad Washan. During the meeting, several issues related to the prospects for fruitful cooperation between Qatar Charity office and the Presidency of Scholars were discussed regarding topics and programs of common interest, including equipping a TV station within the media center of the Islamic Sheikhdom with the latest equipment and supplies, as well as providing devices and equipment for one of the scientific research institutes. The media center provides cultural services aimed at spreading the tolerant teachings of Islam and preserving the civilized Islamic identity of Bosnian society. Many residents of neighboring countries who speak the Bosnian language benefit from its services, such as the Muslims of Croatia, Serbia, Montenegro, Macedonia, Kosovo, and the Bosnian communities in the diaspora. It is noteworthy that the State of Qatar has actively contributed to the implementation of many vital projects in Bosnia, foremost of which is the establishment of a modern building for the Islamic Library in Sarajevo and the restoration of the College of Islamic Studies in Sarajevo. The Islamic Library is a historical legacy due to the manuscripts it contains in various sciences and literature in Arabic, Turkish, and Persian. Qatar Charity has contributed earlier to providing modern devices and equipment that contributed to preserving these manuscripts that were subject to damage and loss. Qatar Charity office in Bosnia and Herzegovina during the last period, in coordination with the Islamic Sheikhdom, has built a number of mosques, printed many books, sponsored a number of imams and preachers, provided full support to an Islamic school for several years, and sponsored the teaching staff of the College of Islamic Studies in Sarajevo, in addition to providing two service cars for the Islamic school and equipping and furnishing an educational hall in an Islamic school. Qatar Charity is also in continuous coordination with the Islamic Sheikhdom in all the areas in which it operates in Bosnia and Herzegovina. (QNA)
