5.5-Magnitude Earthquake In Indonesia Early Friday

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 2 (Bernama) -- A moderate earthquake measuring 5.5 on the Richter scale occurred in Northern Sumatra, 134km southeast of Padang Sidempuan, Indonesia at 4.04am on Friday. The Meteorological Department in a statement said the temblor did not pose any threat of a tsunami. The location was about 426km southeast of Klang in Malaysian state, Selangor, it said. --BERNAMA
