6.1-magnitude quake rattles Mashhad

TEHRAN, Apr. 05 (MNA) – A magnitude 6.1 earthquake struck 76 km east-southeast of the city of Mashhad in northeastern Iran on Wednesday. Residents felt the earthquake at 10:39 on Wednesday. It occurred at a depth of 10km, in Sefid Sang village, Fariman city. There were no reports of casualties or damage so far, said Shahin Fathi, deputy head of rescue operations. He said assessment teams have been dispatched to the affected regions.
