Iran-Russia Call For More Co-op On Environment

Moscow, Dec 12, IRNA – Vice-President and Head of Department of Environment (DoE) Mohammad Javad Mohammadi-zadeh and Russia's Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Sergey Donskoy underlined expansion of cooperation in the field of environment. The two officials met with each other here on Tuesday before attending meeting of environment and natural resources officials of the Caspian Sea littoral states. The Iran's VP said that Iran and Russia have old and traditional relationship and have started environmental cooperation since long time ago. He said that Iran intends to revive tiger and Russia intends to revive panther in their respective countries and this is a good ground for continuation of cooperation between the two countries in the field of environment. Mohammadi-zadeh has travelled to Moscow to attend the 4th meeting of environment and natural resources officials of member states of the Caspian Sea Environment Convention. The meeting will kick off on Wednesday with participation of officials from five littoral states of the Caspian Sea./end
