Strong Quake Hits Turkey

KUALA LUMPUR, July 21 (Bernama) -- A strong earthquake measuring 6.5 on the Richter scale occurred in Turkey at 6.31 Friday morning. According to the Malaysian Meteorological Department, the epicentre of the quake was located 149 kilometers southeast of Izmir,Turkey and 8,018 kilometres northwest of Langkawi, Kedah. However, the earthquake did not pose a tsunami threat to Malaysia. -- BERNAMA
