Equatorial Guinea Confirms its Support for Saudi Arabia’s Bid to Host Expo 2030 and 2034 World Cup

Malabo, October 11, 2023, SPA -- The President of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea, Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, received today the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Cabinet Member, and Envoy for Climate, Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir, and his accompanying delegation.
At the outset of the meeting, the minister conveyed the greetings of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and their wishes of further progress and prosperity to the government and people of Equatorial Guinea. The President of Equatorial Guinea sent his greetings and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, HRH the Crown Prince, and the government and people of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the bilateral relations and discussed aspects of strengthening them and pushing them towards broader prospects to achieve the aspirations of the two countries and peoples for further progress and prosperity.
The president expressed his welcome and keenness to participate in the first Saudi-African Summit to be hosted by the Kingdom during the current year.
The Minister of State for Foreign Affairs expressed the Kingdom’s thanks and appreciation for the support of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea for the Kingdom’s bid to host the Expo 2030 and 2034 World Cup.
During the visit, Al-Jubeir also met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Equatorial Guinea, Simeon Oyono Esono Angue, during which they discussed issues of common interest.
