Experts & Media Professionals: HH The Amir's Speech Is A Roadmap For UN Conference On LDC5 Success

Doha, March 05 (QNA) - A number of experts appreciated the contents of the speech of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, at the opening of the Fifth UN Conference on the Least Developed Countries, held in Doha under the slogan "From Potential to Prosperity". For his part, HE Director-General of Qatar News Agency (QNA) Ahmed bin Saeed Al Rumaihi said that the speech of HH the Amir at the 5th UN Conference on the Least Developed Countries enumerated the challenges the world is currently going through, the most important of which are food security issues, climate change and the continuing effects of the Coronavirus pandemic, the energy crisis, and the debt crisis, and it also illuminated the way towards finding solutions to all these problems. HE Al Rumaihi stressed that the presidency of HH the Amir of the conference will have an effective impact on the role of this conference in identifying challenges and solutions to stand by the least developed countries in the world, praising the announcement of HH the Amir to provide a financial contribution of a total amount of USD 60 million, of which USD 10 million will be allocated to support the implementation of the activities of the Doha Program of Action for the benefit of the least developed countries, and an amount of USD 50 million will be allocated to support the expected results of the Doha Program of Action and build resilience capacities in the least developed countries. HE Director General of Qatar News Agency (QNA) expressed his hope that Qatar's announcement of this contribution will prompt development partners in the world to follow the example of the State of Qatar and take the initiative to provide the necessary support for the Doha Program to assist the least developed countries. HE Al Rumaihi considered that the current contribution of the State of Qatar is part of a large series of contributions made by the state for the benefit of the least developed countries in the world, referring to the efforts made by the State of Qatar during the Coronavirus crisis and extending a helping hand to these countries and helping them overcome the crisis that swept the world. HE Director General of Qatar News Agency (QNA) valued the rule set by HH the Amir, in order to achieve security, stability and growth in the world, which is "international human solidarity", stressing that HH the Amir diagnosed the crisis and laid down a successful solution for it by the need for the world to turn to solidarity in order to avoid all problems and challenges. HE Al Rumaihi pointed out that the speech of HH the Amir illuminated the way for all countries of the world with the importance of solidarity and standing together in the face of challenges, the latest of which is the massive earthquake disaster in Turkiye and Syria, and His Highness called on everyone to support efforts to overcome the effects of this disaster. Editor-in-Chief of Lusail newspaper Mohamed Hajji,said in a statement to Qatar News Agency that the Fifth UN Conference on the Least Developed Countries is being held at a very important period, noting that there are many events and developments in the world that have caused direct and indirect suffering of some countries. He stressed that the State of Qatar's hosting of this conference with such a large attendance of heads of state and heads of government reflects the international interest of international organizations in providing aid and assistance to the least developed countries, explaining that this type of conference, due to this huge international presence is an opportunity to study many problems that these countries suffer from, especially in providing food security. He underlined that the speech of HH the Amir today at the opening of the Fifth UN Conference on the Least Developed Countries represents a road map for the conference, as HH the Amir put in his speech many solutions to these problems on the discussion table, the conference will issue recommendations to solve the problems that these countries suffer from.
The Editor-in-Chief of Lusail newspaper pointed out that HH the Amir touched an important and somewhat different vision, which is that these problems be addressed from their roots, for example with regard to food security. HH the Amir stressed that it is not only important to provide aid urgently to the countries that suffer, but it is important that the problem of food security be addressed through achieving food security in these countries, as well as various other issues such as climate change and sustainable development. He explained that HH the Amir sent a message to all concerned countries that have economic capacity, as well as concerned organizations, to provide assistance to the least developed countries and to be up to the responsibility to contribute to solving the problems of these countries, as everyone is required to bear part of the responsibility for what is happening in these countries and the suffering they are going through by offering a helping hand and sustainable aid. The Editor-in-Chief of Lusail newspaper Mohamed Hajji, said that it is very important to put forward projects that constitute sustainability to solve the problems of the least developed countries, and not just provide emergency aid, pointing out that there are already many countries that suffer from continuous problems and need solutions and need continuous aid, and this was confirmed by HH the Amir today in his speech. For his part, Expert and Economic Analyst Abdulla Al-Khater, said that HH the Amir's speech carried the concerns of the international community in general and those in charge of the United Nations in particular. His Highness's speech appreciated where the donor countries stand in relation to the least developed countries and the responsibilities of each side, pointing to the great echo of His Highness's speech at this important international conference. He added, in a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA), that the speech of HH the Amir was comprehensive, knowledgeable and aware of the events, and this also gives the State of Qatar clarity of vision and clarity of the role that Qatar will assume in front of the world, because the world desperately needs Qatar because of its possession of expertise, knowledge, economic capabilities and sincere intentions. This was evident in the speech of HH the Amir, granting the international organization initially USD 10 million to support the Doha Program and USD 50 million for the outcomes of the conference. Al-Khater stressed that the presidency of HH the Amir of this version of the conference gives the international community more hope in achieving some of the outputs and results of this conference. He stressed that the State of Qatar enjoys the highest level of credibility, and this reassures the workers of the United Nations, donors and recipients of these grants as well, and there is a great belief that the State of Qatar is sincere in what it is doing in terms of its inherent values. He explained that the world today is preoccupied with crises in food security, inflation and energy security, pointing out that the high level of credibility, clear support and responsibility enjoyed by the State of Qatar heralds a greater role and central role for Doha globally, as Qatar is qualified and capable of developing and implementing programs during the next stage. For his part, the Professor of Economics at Qatar University Dr. Rajab Abdullah Al-Ismail, said that HH the Amir touched on, in his comprehensive speech today, the most important challenges and exceptional circumstances the world is going through, such as food security and the phenomenon of climate change, and the resulting increase in poverty and lack of food and health care, as a result of these crises. In a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA), he called for the use of HH the Amir's speech at the Fifth United Nations Conference on the Least Developed Countries, as a program or agenda during the days of the conference to achieve the desired results of the conference, and to stand up to the difficult global challenges that represent an obstacle for the peoples of the world.
