FANA Secretariat General Discusses Developments of Joint Action in Riyadh

Riyadh, October 11, 2023, SPA -- The Secretariat General of the Federation of Arab News Agencies (FANA) held its periodic meeting in Riyadh today, under the chairmanship of FANA President and President of the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), Dr. Fahd bin Hassan Al Aqran and the participation of members of FANA and representatives of news agencies of Kuwait, Tunisia, Jordan, Bahrain and the UAE.
The meeting, which was held at the headquarters of the SPA, was attended by FANA Secretary-General Dr. Farid Ayar. The meeting discussed the items on the agenda related to follow-up work and the recommendations of the previous meeting and went over the professional and technical development aspects and the latest updates related to cooperation and ways to enhance them.
Al Aqran stressed that FANA, through its meetings at the level of the Secretariat and the General Assembly conferences, continues its efforts in the field of joint Arab media work to boost cooperation and advance development efforts in light of its gains and becoming among the three most important international news organizations. He expressed FANA's aspirations to achieve more positive results in light of competition among media outlets, successive developments and variables in the media sector, and the enormous revolution in communications technology and information exchange.
He also said that the excellence and influence of news agencies, both internal and external, as a reliable source of transmitting and flowing news content, requires more concerted efforts among members to bring about an evolutionary shift in performance, tools and media discourse.
