Astana is pride of Kazakhstani citizens

Astana, 22 January 2009, Khabar - According to the results of 2008, Astana has once again become one of the regional leaders concerning economic and social growth rates, investment attractiveness, the volume of housing construction and infrastructural development. The city has all the potential to retain this leading position in 2009. The past 12 months were rather difficult and the world economic and financial collapse has had its affects on the development plans of Astana. Primarily, this concerns the construction sector of the capital city. 107 billion tenge was allocated for its support from the republic’s budget on the request of Nursultan Nazarbayev. As a result, it became possible to solve the problems of almost 4500 construction share holders. At present, the construction of 128 facilities is in progress the completion of which is awaited by 23 thousand participants of shared construction. This issue will be concluded in the near future. The necessity to increase the standard of living of city residents was among the priority tasks set for the municipal administration office for the short-term. This suggests the paving of high quality, modern transport interchanges, high quality services, meeting the required number of educational and public health facilities, cleanliness, public order and safety. Nursultan Nazarbayev assigned a task to improve what already exists at a recent sitting of the development issues of Astana.
