First Group of Tunisian Hajj Pilgrims Departs for Makkah

Tunis, June 09, 2023, SPA -- The first group of Tunisian pilgrims departed Tunis Carthage International Airport for Makkah today to perform the Hajj rituals for this year, 1444 AH.
Tunisia's Minister for Religious Affairs Ibrahim Al-Shaebi, Minister of Transport Rabie Majidi, and Saudi Arabia's Ambassador to Tunisia Abdulaziz bin Ali Al-Saqr were present to bid farewell to the 251 pilgrims.
In a statement, Minister Al-Shaebi hailed the efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in facilitating Hajj procedures for this season.
The praise follows relevant meetings held ahead of the Hajj season to secure all the required conditions for pilgrims regarding lodging, transportation, medical escorts, guides, and the Tunisian Hajj mission, which includes 520 people, Al-Shaebi said.
The minister called for the Tunisian pilgrims to act as the best ambassadors for their country.
On this occasion, the Saudi Ambassador Al-Saqr stressed the Kingdom’s full preparedness at all levels to extend various facilities to the Grand Mosque visitors, wishing all pilgrims a secure Hajj and a safe return.
The ambassador underlined the efforts exerted by the Kingdom's Embassy in Tunisia in coordination with the Tunisian Ministry for Religious Affairs as an extension of the Saudi efforts to organize Hajj.
Such efforts are also an extension of the major Hajj and Umrah system under the supervision of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, the ambassador affirmed.
