GCC Secretary-General Condemns Vandalism Attack on Saudi Embassy in Sudan
Riyadh, June 8, 2023, SPA -- The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jassem Albudaiwi has expressed condemnation and denunciation of the acts of sabotage and vandalism carried out by the armed groups on the premises of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Sudan and its facilities, in addition to sabotaging the residences and property of the Saudi employees working in the embassy.
The Secretary-General stressed the need to stop all escalation and the targeting of the headquarters of diplomatic missions and their buildings, calling them a serious violation of the rules of international law and diplomatic agreements.
Albudaiwi reiterated the call for the conflicting parties to respect international agreements and diplomatic norms that guarantee the sanctity and safety of the headquarters of diplomatic missions and their employees, adding that such illegal actions contribute to the aggravation and deterioration of the security situation in Sudan.
