GCC Secretary-General Visits KSrelief Humanitarian and Developments Projects in Yemen

Aden, September 04, 2023, SPA -- Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi visited Saturday Aden General Hospital to oversee the humanitarian and relief operations, and the development projects operated by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) in Yemen, displayed at the hospital's exhibition.
KSrelief team made a presentation about the nature of relief and development projects implemented in Yemen, which amounted to a total of 828 projects. These projects encompass a wide range of sectors, including health, agriculture and food security, education, water and environmental sanitation, security and protection sectors. The presentation also highlighted the support and coordination of humanitarian operations, with a cost in excess of USD4 billion.
According to the team, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has been supporting Yemen for decades in various fields, including by establishing Al-Salam Hospital, in 1982, in Saada Governorate, and the Saudi Hospital, in Hajjah Governorate, in 1992, both endowed with the latest medical equipment and enjoying an annual operating budget, which made them become a destination for patients from all Yemeni governorates. KSrelief has continuously supported various health institutions in Yemen as well.
After the visit, Albudaiwi issued a press release praising the great humanitarian role played by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which gives all kinds of support to Yemeni people through the implementation of vital programs and projects intended to alleviate the suffering of the needy.
