‘Game of Thrones’ star visits Thai village

SAMUT SAKHON, Sept 30 (TNA) -- United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Goodwill Ambassador Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, a star of HBO’s popular hit series Game of Thrones, has visited a Thai community development area in Samut Sakhon province. Arriving in Thailand for the first time, the Danish actor visited Koke Kham Community Development in Samut Sakhon provincial seat, near Bangkok, on Friday. Accompanied by UNDP officials, Mr Coster-Waldau inspected several UNDP programmes in the area, aimed at enabling villagers to cope with rapid climate changes and to conserve rare plants and animals. He also had an opportunity to talk with sea salt farmers and witnessed observe rare birds in the area. Expressing his satisfactory in the visit, Mr Coster-Waldau said he had now learned the way of life of community people vividly and it would be used with the UNDP in developing the world later. (TNA)
