1.2 million speed pills, 17kg of “ice” seized
BANGKOK, June 12 (TNA) -- Police seized 1.2 million methamphetamine pills and 17 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine or “ice” from drug rings including that connected to Lao drug kingpin Xaysana Keopimpha.
Police from the Narcotics Suppression Bureau arrested Pathomporn Pornsa-ngiamnukul and two others at a checkpoint in Prachuap Khiri Khan and seized from them 910,000 speed pills.
The suspects have confessed that they were hired for the fourth time to transport narcotics to Hat Yai district, Songkhla. Police said they were part of the already arrested Xaysana’s drug cartel.
Another group of police arrested Ms Chotiros Nalinthong and three other suspects on Phutthamonthon 3 Road in Thawi Watthana district, Bangkok, and found with them 100,000 speed pills and 5kg of “ice”. Police said they brought the narcotics from Mae Fa Luang district of Chiang Rai to Bangkok.
Police said the people planned the trafficking with Hmong people. Both sides earlier met at a prison where they were visiting their jailed relatives.
In another case, Natthachai Worayanant was arrested with 200,000 speed pills and 10kg of “ice” on his vehicle at a checkpoint equipped with an X-ray machine in Lampang, on his way to Bangkok.
Besides, two Lao people were arrested at a department store in Bang Bon district of Bangkok allegedly with 2kg of “ice”. (TNA)
