18 COVID-19 Positive Indonesians In Sabah East Coast Have Recovered

TAWAU (Sabah, Malaysia) June 25 (Bernama) -- All except one of the 19 Indonesians in Sabah’s east coast who were infected with COVID-19 have recovered from the disease, said the head of the Indonesian consulate in Tawau. Sulistijo Djati Ismojo said the sole patient who has yet to recover was a 23-year-old man who entered Tawau illegally and was detained at the Temporary Detention Centre. "This person should have been deported together with 314 Indonesians via the Tawau Port today but was found positive of COVID-19 recently and is now being treated at the Tawau Hospital," he told reporters here Wednesday. Djati said 18 of the Indonesians who tested positive were workers in Lahad Datu, Kunak, Semporna, Kalabakan, Tawau and Sandakan. He thanked the Sabah government for allowing the 314 Indonesians to return home. They had been stranded in the country since the imposition of the Movement Control Order on March 18. He said 111 Indonesians from Kalimantan who are still stranded in Sabah would return home on Friday. -- BERNAMA
