44 Foreigners Detained For Abusing Social Visit Passes

KUALA TERENGGANU (Malaysia), Nov 30 (Bernama) -- The Terengganu Immigration Department detained 44 foreigners who misused their social visit passes to work at massage centres in Jalan Kampung Dalam here today. During the raid carried out by 26 Immigration officers from the state at about 4.30pm Tuesday, 24 foreigners from China, including 22 women who worked at reflexology massage centres in this east coast state were detained. There were seven customers receiving 'treatment' when the raid was carried out at one centre, said state Deputy director Mohd Khaira Daud, adding that the premises had been raided three times before. Mohd Khaira said during the operation, raids were carried out at various locations and 44 foreigners detained for a number of offences, including misusing their social visit passes to work. "Some had overstayed or the duration of their visit passes had expired," he said. -- BERNAMA
